The Phoenix Rising Sanctuary
The concept of the Phoenix Rising Coven began on March 18,2006 by two friends, Amy and Cheryl, due to the apparent lack of any actual organizations and/or classes in our area; which were not based on-line and where people can receive a real "hands on" learning experience.
Amy and Cheryl are two friends who walk their paths daily and came together wishing for that safe place to worship, have a connectedness with nature and with each other, and to eventually have the desire to teach.
They knew that this would be a daunting task but they were up for the challenge. It took well over a year for this dream to come to fruition.
Amy and Cheryl than combined their learning experiences to come up with the Classes at the Coven. Even though their paths may vary; they were are able to meld them together to create not only this Coven but the Classes as well.
After the physical Classes were born, they then added the on-line Classes because they felt that there was a need for others to learn the way of Wicca.
Then, on September 25, 2008, they again combined their experiences to form the Phoenix Rising Sanctuary.
Our Motto is: 'Out of the ashes good things arise as the Phoenix' because of the cycles of life that they both have endured upon their paths.
The Phoenix Rising Sanctuary, is a Networking and a Meeting Group.
As Pagans, and as Teachers, we have observed that there was a bigger need in our community.
We felt that an organization was needed that could help the community with all of their needs.
This has now become the Spiritual Home for Amy and Cheryl, where they could have a place to counsel those in need, do various Rites of Passages, and again help the community with their needs. Hence, on September 25, 2008 the Phoenix Rising Sanctuary was born.
Even though it is in its infancy at present, it is believed that it will grow and become a success.
We know it will take a lot of time to become a non-profit organization and this is a task both are willing to work hard at. We will let you know as things develop.
We will add to the history as it grows into something beautiful.
We want the Phoenix Rising Sanctuary to be a place that you will be accepted ~ no matter your beliefs or practices and honorable ~ as long as you are open to all~ even though we are Pagan based.
Please be aware that the Phoenix Rising Sanctuary is not open to Members at this time. When it is open, we will post an update on the Calendar.
